Former Expresso Show presenter Katlego Maboe is demanding R1m each from his ex-girlfriend Monique Muller, her brother, Seth, Women for Change founder Sabrina Walter as well as the SA Film and Television Awards (Safta) for alleged defamation, reports the Cape Times. They were all given three weeks to respond to the demand. It comes after Maboe, through his legal team, sent letters of demand to Walter, Muller, Seth and Safta to retract allegations made against him. Maboe was embroiled in a scandal involving alleged infidelity and domestic violence last year. The presenter was suspended from SABC 3’s The Expresso Show and OUTsurance announced the removal of all his TV advertisements. His legal team argued that the allegations were factually untrue and had caused injury to Maboe’s reputation and ability to earn an income. Maboe has also lodged a crimen injuria complaint with the police against Walter.
